Mission and Objectives

The Photographer’s Association of Malawi strives to:

 

  • promote the art of photography

Through publicity, exhibitions, contests, publications, presentations

 

  • promote the development of highly skilled photographers in Malawi

Through training opportunities, resource library materials, and seminars / meetings

  • protect the interests and rights of photographers and their work

Through civic education on human rights, press freedom, marketing, and copyright law

  • promote high professional standards and ethics in the profession of photography

Through technical training and civic education on ethics and responsibility

  • encourage collaboration, communication, cooperation and networking between photographers

Through meetings, seminars, workshops, and newsletters

  • provide a linkage between Malawian photographers and other International photographers, photographic associations and agencies  

Through e-mail and Internet communication, strengthening of relationships between PHOTAMA and other associations, individuals, and agencies in Malawi and the rest of the world
