A New Civil War: MSF's HIV/AIDS Education in Guatemala
The primary focus for Medicos Sin Fronteras
(MSF) Switzerland's activities in Guatemala are in the prevention of HIV / AIDS.
Through educational and counseling programs, MSF works with the Ministry of 
Education
in urban schools in an effort to halt the spread of HIV infection. While the
situation of armed civil unrest may be improved in Guatemala, there is a new
battle - that of HIV and AIDS. With regular school visits, participatory
class-room 
activities,
and education sessions with both parents and students, MSF is actively engaged
in the prevention of HIV / AIDS transmission. The photo series below
portrays some of the activities that MSF is currently carrying out in
Quetzaltenango, the second largest city in Guatemala.
